How It Works

Aleenta BARRE Instructor Training is an intensive course which includes studio classes, self-study, intensive contact hours, online study and assessments. It is intense, challenging and rewarding.  Undertaking our Barre Instructor Training will give you the confidence, skills and knowledge to create your own classes in any environment.

Not only will you learn the principles of barre, but also how to improve your own personal strength and technique for brilliant demonstrations and teaching style and delivery. 


The 4 day intensive course is delivered over a weekend - Friday to Monday. 
Contact hours are:
Friday       8am to 5pm
Saturday  12pm to 6pm
Sunday     12pm to 6pm 
Monday   8am to 4pm



The 5 Day Course includes an intensive Workshop focusing on ballet technique and terminology for Instructors who need to improve their ballet technique and understand ballet terminology.This is run the day prior to the 4 Day Course on the Thursday from 1:30pm to 5:30pm. 

Course Details

  • 10 hours pre barre training by undertaking barre studio classes 

  • 15 hours prior self-study – complete online modules  

  • 25 intensive contact hours delivered over four consecutive days (typically Fri-Sun)

  • 10 hours anatomy, ballet and barre self-study via online modules

  • 5 hours at home class design 

  • 10 hours independent practice teaching/and exam study.

  • One formal teaching assessment*


Total 75 hours.

All course requirements must be completed within 2 weeks of the first day of face-to face teaching.

At the completion of the 
75 hour program you will be awarded your 75 hour Aleenta BARRE Instructor Training Certification. The Barre Instructor Training Course is a Fitness Australia, The Health & Fitness Industry Association Approved CEC Program. Participants who successfully complete the program will be eligible to attain a total of 15 CECs from this Barre Training Course.

*You must pass the formal assessments to pass this course.  A
pass score is 80%. Re-examinations are $150 each.

Course Requirements

  • Barre Instructor Training is open to anyone who has a Certificate III or higher in dance, fitness, Pilates, yoga or equivalent. A basic understanding of anatomy is assumed.

  • A minimum of 10 barre classes must be undertaken before commencing the course.

  • A Certificate III in a qualification such as personal trainer, Pilates, Dance or Level 1 in Yoga is the minimum qualification in Australia allowing you to undertake insurance for group exercise purposes.

  • If you elect to do the additional Ballet Workshop, you will also develop a strong basic knowledge of Ballet terms and technique.

  • Top students may receive an offer to work at Aleenta BARRE but no placement is guaranteed.

Course Costs

  • All course groups are strictly limited to 16 participants. Booking early is highly advisable.

  • Deposit of $220 is non-refundable. 

  • Early Bird Pricing: If paid 4 Weeks In advance $100 discount is applied to Course Cost.

  • The balance must be paid prior to commencement of the course. The course is non-refundable 2 weeks prior to the course commencement.
